Gante es una bellísima ciudad de Bélgica, ubicada estratégicamente a medio camino entre Bruselas, la capital del país, y la reconocida Brujas. Estar a la vera del canal Gante-Terneuzen le da a la ciudad salida al mar y la convierte también en un polo económico de importancia.

Ghent is a beautiful city of Belgium, strategically located halfway between Brussels, the capital of the country, and the renowned Bruges. Being on the edge of the Ghent-Terneuzen canal gives the city access to the sea and also converts the city into an economic pole of importance.

Casi todo el mundo reconoce a Brujas como la ciudad donde predominan las construcciones medievales y el estilo antiguo, pero debemos saber que Gante es la zona donde más edificios históricos medievales podemos encontrar.

Almost everyone recognizes Bruges as a city dominated by the medieval architecture and the old style, but we must know that Ghent is the area where we can find the greatest number of medieval historic buildings.

• El Castillo de los Condes: Inconfundible por sus torres de protección y vigilancia, está abierto para la visita de 09 a 18 hs con un costo de 10 Euros.
• El Castillo de los Condes: (the name means “castle of the counts”): unmistakable by their protection and surveillance towers, it is open for visit from 9 am to 6 pm at a cost of 10 Euros.

• El Campanario Municipal: Ubicado en el centro de la ciudad, la domina con sus más de 90 metros de alto.
• The Belfry of Ghent: located in the city centre, it dominates the city with its more than 90-metre-tall.

• La Iglesia de San Nicolás: Imponente edificio construido en piedra azulada, imposible no reconocerla a lo lejos.
• The Saint-Nicolas Church: one of the most prominent landmarks in the city, built in blue-gray stone, it is impossible not to recognize it in the distance.

Pero no todo es monumento o edificación en Gante, su vida cultural y su diversión nocturna marca la diferencia con otras ciudades históricas.

But not everything is monuments or buildings in Ghent, its cultural life and its nightlife makes the difference with other historical cities.

La zona de Saint Jacobs no sólo es el polo cervecero por excelencia, ofrece además clubes nocturnos con gran variedad de shows en vivo; en la plaza Oude Beestenmarkt encontraremos varias discotecas de moda.

Saint Jacobs is not only the brewing center for excellence, it also offers night clubs with a lot of live shows; at the square Oude Beestenmarkt we will find many trendy clubs.

Uno de los más destacados restaurantes es el Belga Queen, emplazado en un edificio del siglo trece, donde se pueden degustar platos excelentes y maridarlos con decenas de variedades de cervezas regionales.

One of the most outstanding restaurants is the Belga Queen, located in a building of the thirteenth century, where you can taste excellent dishes and maridarlos with dozens of varieties of regional beers.

Por todo lo dicho, Gante es una ciudad que recomendamos fervientemente conocer y disfrutar. Aunque un par de días no serán suficientes para aprovechar toda su oferta turística, visitarla durante 48hs a mitad de una gira europea nos puede llenar acabadamente el espíritu.

By all this, Ghent is a city that we earnestly recommend to discover and enjoy. Although a couple of days will not be enough to get the best out of its tourist offer, a visit for 48 hours in the middle of a European tour can fill our spirit.
